At Advance Vision Driving School (AV Driving), we make sure our students understand the real road rules – not just what they see on social media.
In New South Wales, learner, P1 and P2 drivers must not use a mobile phone at all while driving or while the car is stationary in traffic (red lights, queues, etc.).
This includes phones that are:
- in your hand, on your lap or between your shoulder and ear
- in a phone holder
- connected through Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay or Android Auto
You cannot use your phone for:
- calls (even hands-free)
- texts, social media, emails
- music apps
- maps or GPS navigation
You can use your phone only when:
- the car is properly parked and out of the traffic lane (you can have the engine on)
- to pay or show a voucher in a car park or drive-through
- to show your digital driver licence when police ask
Breaking these rules can mean big fines, demerit points and losing your P1 or P2 licence.
At Advance Vision Driving School, Instructor George teaches you not just how to pass the test, but how to stay safe and legal on NSW roads.
